For my eye, IMHO ISO nothing much of a different but the color is much more to observe, I prefer 5D Mark III color than 2 model from Sony (e.g. The Multi Arch with Lights). But its good we have a lot of choices though. Any chance that we can see DPP process for both Canon and Sony Raw sample option too. Thanks DPR.

ArchiDeos: Wow. I've seen to much bitterness on the comments. In respect to all the Pros and Newbies like me, If you don't want the specs of the Camera then don't buy it. That's simple. But as they say we can be all have an opinion on the net. I like the concept but that doesn't mean I will buy the camera. Just for the fact that you can shoot continues shooting for 1 hour or 30 minutes video is a plus compare to the one mostly talking about. Hoping they can do the software upgrade for RAW both video & still if they can.. Waiting for MARK II. Have a great day everyone.

Well mates, that's my fair points. No offense but idiots you are, if you think the camera is overprice and the specs is not good at all for your needs and some reason you still buy it. And if their Camera will be very poor in sales, then maybe Canon will improve the specs for the MARK II model. I think this is the trial and error period for the Camera. Canon want feedback from us. But IMHO the concept is another one step forward to innovation.

1. Don't use default colors, use Faithful.
2. Silent shutter option. You only lose 1 frame per second.
3. Crop sensors are great for sports. More reach on the zooms. The 1D used to come with a crop sensor.
A "pro" that doesn't know ow the tools shouldn't be call pro.

Don't just grab a camera and start shooting. Read at least part of the manual and set it up.

That's what I thought when I red the first paragraph... Nice article though at least we knew how a Photojournalist workaround in the field. All the cons she mentioned is all opinionated one and I think we can get over easily just some workaround from the Camera itself.. Have a nice day...

Nice Camera.. but still a comparable size compared to DSLR rig. Well this is just only the first quarter of the year, expect new Camera will be release soon and this model will be the least to consider. CANIKON new model will rock the show as always.. Happy shooting guys..

Considering this is their first Model of mirrorless EOS-M.. I would say, other brands will innovate their design and concept. Good for us, same with DSLR models now.. we can request the Do's and Dont's for their next model from this forum i guess.. cheers...

pdelux: With Only two native lenses and compatibility via adapter only for people who own Canon SLR lenses, one can only wonder if canon is trying to offer a valid alternative mirrorless option, or just trying just to stop the haemorrhaging (temporarily) of its P&S/entry-mid level DSLR customers?

Which users of SONY/ M43 /Other mirror-less formats would go back to CANON with this effort considering OMD-EM5, NEX, Samsung, Pentax offerings are already Light years ahead. I don't think anyone who doesn't have an investment in Canon lenses would even think twice about this product.

A Band Aid solution from a company that has forgotten how to INNOVATE.

Be cool.. pdelux.. What will happen if Canon want to go ahead considering this is their first model of mirrorless Camera.. IMHO, sony, samsung, pana, olympus, pentax brand will knock their head on the walls..lol.. peace bro..

Jimmy jang Boo: Canon's most uninspiring lackluster effort to date. They have the resources and could have easily positioned themselves at the head of the mirrorless market with something technologically innovative; instead they have settled for being the tail. The perfunctory EOS M makes it clear that Canon is out of ideas. And now with the erosion of the point and shoot market giving away to mobile phones, Canon's bread and butter is in jeopardy.

Hey Bro.. IMHO, what happen to other brand if Canon want it ahead.. Just wait and read the Full review before posting any comment my friend regarding "out of ideas". Peace..

mbaginy: I don't see a real need for this camera now. There was a time, where Canon was a photographic leader, now they seem to be playing catch up.

But then, since they seemed unable (unwilling?) to add a dedicated mirror lockup button to their D-SLRs, this development seems only logical.

Agree 13guy..nice bro... Better read your manual 3X and be familiar with the function and menus to optimize you camera..

Well, i gues for the M-Camera.. This is for hobbyist who likes compact camera for day to day shooting and its easy to throw on your bag..and its good Canon design the M-camera for the Existing Superb L-glass Lenses.. A big plus for the existing owners.. lets wait for the final review then we can suggest what is missing. Keep on shooting guys...

Hey guys, just be cool. That's the reality here. Ugly truth hurts. But to be fair, Canon already made the perfect solution for the lightleak issue in just few days, which i think is not a big issue if you know your gear and know their limits. And for the Nikon, hoping they will Fix the issue ASAP. Happy shooting..
