hip2: it seems like everyone is voting for the camera they own, and not objectively for the best camera :D

Actually, I own the Ricoh GR but voted for the Fuji X100s.
Disclosure: I do own the Fuji X100.

All of a sudden my two year old camera has turned into a brand new camera.
Magic!

Would invisible ink be considered as "no text"?

Avenue des Champs-Élysées, one of the most famous streets in the world.
Littered with cigarette buts, and I couldn't spot a single trash can.
Vive La France!

Here's a ride report done by a motorcyclist who used the x100s when riding through some of the 'stans (Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan). He has some beautiful images in his ride report.

Some of his photographs prompted forum members to buy x100s.

I'll have to admit, seeing photos from the camera generates some desire to own the camera, regardless if I could reproduce the other photogs pictures or not. For my purposes a Nikon P7800/Canon G/Fuji X20 would likely be a better fit.

Beautiful photos of some really beautiful places.

Way overexposed.
Couldn't even pass it for a high key.
Lame.
Fail.

There's no way I'd ever trade my X100 for the X100s.
While I would like to have the option of the split-screen manual focusing aid, I believe the X100 sensor to be superior to the X100s.

13MP crammed unto a smart phone size sensor is nothing but a disaster.
Expect nothing but unacceptable amounts of noise on all the photos.

Looks like my Leica M4-P, Zeiss Ikon RF and Nikon FE2 will be seeing some action again.

I think I'll keep my S110 until it breaks down.

I've got a Casio back in 1997 but I just can't remember if it had a rotating lens.
Sold it same year to a guy in Mexico.

I've already considered it:
The Ricoh GR, and just can't wait to get my hands on it as soon as I get back home from Mexico.
For my choice of photography it is the camera I've been waiting for for a long time.
I own the X100 and am quite happy with it but I believe the GR will offer me options that the X100 simply do not.
Will a better, or more attractive choice come up? Most likely, but until that happens I am sure I will enjoy the GR.

Cheers!

Are photography gear collectors G.A.S. addicts?
I don't think so.
So, what separates the two and where do you draw the line?

onlooker: "what a smart camera!", "perfect camera for street photography", "one of the rare cameras which have been designed for the use of photographers", "Nice little APS-C camera for The Photographer. Not for everyone..."

What is this, an alternate reality, or has DPR Connect finally taken over? The damn thing has neither a viewfinder nor an articulating LCD, so I suppose "The Photographer" would be the one walking around with his hands extended in front of him, squinting at the screen. Have phone cameras really done so much damage?

I plan on getting a 28mm viewfinder at the same time I'll be buying this little jewel of a cam.
Problem solved (besides, it would make less digital, more conspicuous for street photography).

Oh, yeah.
Time lapse, 300 sec maximum shutter speed, a decently fast 28mm (Equiv) lens plus the snap-focus really tips the balance in its favor. Can't wait to get back home from Mexico to get it and use it.

As a happy owner of an X100 and who's looking forward to purchasing the XE-1 I am quite pleased to see Zeiss announcing AF lenses in the X mount.
Looking forward to acquiring one in the future.
