Nikon 35-70 f/2.8D AF on a D700
Taken on: Jan 20, 2013
Nikkor 35-70 f/2.8D AF on a D700. This lens was the pro-class mid zoom lens made until 2006. Even after the 28-70 f/2.8 AFS came out, Nikon continued to make this gem for professionals who wanted a smaller, lighter all metal lens. Eventually, the 24-70 f/2.8G was released and this 35-70 f/2.8D was dicontinued after its long and distinguished career. I still prefer it and see no reason to upgrade. As you can see, my copy is pristine as they get. LNIB almost. I also get a pretty good Macro option at 35mm by setting a button. In Macro mode, it's manual focus only, but that's a macro thing anyway.

Faceoff: David vs Goliath
Taken on: Aug 31, 2011
I thought this would make an intersting comparison of the two extremes of DSLR.
On the left is the Pentax Kx DSLR that we bought for my girlfriend's mother. On the right is my Canon 1D MkIV.
I really like the little Kx even though it is dwarfed by my large hands. It certainly has its purpose as a travel camera with some pancake primes, although the lack of focus indicators in the viewfinder is a pain.
In case you are wondering the lenses are the smallest pentax and canon lenses I have. The Tokina EL 28mm f/2.8 on the Kx and the EF 15mm f/2.8 fisheye on the 1d
