This is a shot of the same spot at Ruby Beach in Olympic National Park as the previous one posted a few days ago, except that the sun is framed to shine through the haystack. I have tried to get starburst shots of the rising/setting sun with the EF-S 10-22 a few times, never satisfied. For one thing, there are flares all over. I had to get rid of many here. Secondly, the effect is not as crisp as I would like. I don't know if a hood would have helped, but I would have expected better flare resistance from this lens. I have seen people create fake starbursts with filters, but that's not my cup of tea. This is my best effort so far. I have a few more that I'll work on later. Totally dark on the beach, I could see the milky way. I took a couple shots at high iso for composition and then captured this. I didn't have much time as the clouds were moving in so i had to work quickly

This morning was overcast and the sky was pretty colorless. I bumped up the saturation and tweaked in photohop.
