Danube @ Flex (Clown School HDR)
Taken on: Apr 6, 2013
5-shot handheld HDR bracket, blended with the Nik HDR Efex plugin for LightRoom 4.3. An example of over-the-top HDR to go along with the mostly tasteful ones I prefer.

Pelican - Nik Tricks
Taken on: Mar 26, 2013
Just a random recent shot I chose to use for test-driving the Nik plugins, for which Google has recently drastically reduced the price. Here I worked with LightRoom 4.3 (on Win 7, 64 bit) and usedDFine 2 (NR), Sharpener Pro 3 & a few filters from Color Efex 4. Worked seamlessly - no hiccups or performance problems, at all.

Julian Alps at Night (E-M5 + 20mm Banding)
Taken on: Mar 13, 2013
This and the previous image in my gallery were developed from the same RAW, which showed significant banding. I took the image handheld and deliberately underexposed the file. I then brightened it by one EV, applied noise reduction and high ISO sharpening, all in LightRoom. The above image shows how the file looked at that point in post-processing. The other version of this file shows how it looked after additionally applying the VSCO 'Fuji Superia 1600' film preset and setting the Purple Hue Shift to -100 in LightRoom.

Flex & Ringturm
Taken on: Mar 11, 2013
The underbelly & the upper crust. Flex, the legendary club and music venue popular with Vienna's underground scene, towered over by the Ringturm, the historic office building that serves as the headquarters of the staid Vienna Insurance Group (with its funky weather indicator light tower on top). This is a panorama stitched together using hugin from two separate photos.

Cafe Hawelka
Taken on: Mar 11, 2013
SOOC JPEG. I've been playing with the monotone setting, shooting in RAW+JPEG. I usually end up going with the RAW file, anyway, but I like the way that seeing a scene in black and white before photographing it helps me to better visualize how the contrast and lighting will play out in the final image - whether I go with a color or black and white treatment in the end.

What's your rush?

Here's one I took using the Monochrome setting, but this end result is based on the RAW file, which I applied my own processing to.
