This is just a small part of the ceiling decor of the Chiesa del Gesù in Rome and there is nothing I can really add that makes it any better except maybe just to say that it was almost impossible to clearly identify where 3D art and sculpture merged into 2D paintings and that it is even harder to do so in a photograph.

I now know that there isn't any picture that can really convey the spectacle of this place. To walk around the corner and be confronted with this sight is truly breathtaking and this shot does not do it the slightest bit of justice - but I can still try :D
A hand- held ten shot stitch pulled together in Microsoft ICE and taken with the X-E1. For some idea of the scale of this place just look at people in the lower corners.

As Tall As Tall Can Be

More initial toyings with my new Fuji X-E1.
This is a two shot merge and tone map in Photomatix Pro with a bit of tinkering and enhancement in a couple of other software packages. Not perfect but this was my first outdoor shoot on a bright but bitingly cold day so I probably didn't have the patience that I needed, but what the heck - this is just testing at the moment. Some fun times are ahead with this great little camera!

First walkabout with the new toy. This is 5 shots merged in Photomatix Pro from two sets of 1 stop bracketed frames.
But my apologies to any purists cos' then I've messed about with the image in a bunch of other software. Although I have spared you the InfraRed treatment :D
