Chiesa del Gesù
Taken on: Apr 21, 2013
This is just a small part of the ceiling decor of the Chiesa del Gesù in Rome and there is nothing I can really add that makes it any better except maybe just to say that it was almost impossible to clearly identify where 3D art and sculpture merged into 2D paintings and that it is even harder to do so in a photograph.

I Have The Touch
Taken on: Apr 21, 2013
Hello and thank you for visiting
This is a statue of St Agnes that is in one of the niches in the Pantheon. I was struck by how the light was isolating and to some extent almost animating the hand so I've shot and processed this to try and increase that impression. The title was inspired by a track from a 1982 Peter Gabriel album. Gawd!! 1982! Thirty one years ago!

By The Hand Of Man
Taken on: Apr 21, 2013
A view of the incredible ceiling adornments and decorations of Sant'Andrea della Valle in Rome.
This is about 10 or 12 shots taken with the Fujifilm X-E1 and stitched together in Microsoft ICE.
Thank you for visiting and I hope that you enjoy the work.

The Arch Of Constantine, Rome
Taken on: Apr 15, 2013
This is the Arch of Constantine right next to the Colosseum in Rome.
In producing this image I was trying to avoid the atypical tourist shot because, well, lets face it, it's all been done before. So.. this is a combination of 6 shots (mainly because I bracketed and because my lens isn't wide enough to get it all in in one go from where I was standing) taken with the Fujifilm X-E1. It's been stitched in Microsoft ICE and then put through it's paces in a bunch of other software. This is a very early stab so there are one or two things that I'm not completely happy with and I may revisit this when I have a bit more time and patience but overall I'm really pleased with the result.
I hope that you enjoy the work

The Killing Field
Taken on: Apr 14, 2013
The Coloseum in Rome. A 10 shot stitch put together with Microsoft ICE, captured on the X-E1.
I reckon that there's more than 100 people in this shot. This place is BIG!

Trevi Fountain, Rome
Taken on: Apr 14, 2013
I now know that there isn't any picture that can really convey the spectacle of this place. To walk around the corner and be confronted with this sight is truly breathtaking and this shot does not do it the slightest bit of justice - but I can still try :D
A hand- held ten shot stitch pulled together in Microsoft ICE and taken with the X-E1. For some idea of the scale of this place just look at people in the lower corners.
Thank you for visiting and I hope that you enjoy the work

Rosie - X-E1 test
Taken on: Apr 3, 2013
Cat sat on my lap in the living room whilst I'm testing the new toy. What can you expect but another shot of my pet subject (pardon the pun :D).
I've had to crop the original tightly to avoid a distracting background and my portly belly - yes, ok, shall we just say that I've probably been overdoing the biscuits :-)
Anyways - the picture has been cropped and then run through Lightroom to clean up what teensy bit of noise there was. Just look at the ISO! I couldn't get this shot with any of my other gear. Great stuff! (And no, I don't know why I had nearly two thirds exposure compensation on - just trying to make life harder I guess.)

Theatre In The Round
Taken on: Apr 2, 2013
Yep, first prize for cringiest title of the day!
This is the Lowry Theatre (again) taken with my new Fuji X-E1 (again) - have I mentioned that I've got a new camera?
This is a composite from 7 frames stitched together in Microsoft ICE. Remaining treatments done in a bunch of other software. Had to have a go at some monochrome, but not just any old monochrome, nope, it definitely needed a bit of sepia toning. Ahhh..., takes me back to the good old days of hand toning and colouring my B&W prints.
I hope that you enjoy the work and thanks very much for dropping by.
Regards,
Cluke
