My best shots of our neighborhood jaybird...he'd unexpectedly landed on the fence a few yards away from me, and I must admit I was rather startled to see him so close. I did manage to pop off a few shots before he flew away...needless to say they turned out pretty good.

Bird battle!!

Did I mention that hummingbirds are feisty little guys? Alot of fightin goes on at these feeders...hummers diving at each other, jockeying for a prime spot or simply in the mood for an altercation...I've seen it all. These two got into it while I was shooting this morning..usually it happens waaaay too fast for my camera to catch the action, but this time I managed to pop off a couple of snaps before they flew off. Not one of my best pics but it still conveys the violent world they live in.
