The night before flying to Punta Cana

As a rule, when I go on a flight, I make sure I get a window seat and that I have my camera in hand. Although I have been on many flights, I never grow tired of the patterns and shapes drawn not only on the land, but also in the sky. During early morning and late afternoon hours the interplay of light with earth and sky can be particularly spectacular. This particular afternoon, as I was leaving New York City onto another adventure in Colombia, the sun broke through an otherwise overcast sky and, for a fleeting moment, painted land and water in beautiful light. The tongue of land on the left hand side is part of Long Island. Thanks for looking!
