this is rubbish! colors on the nikon or canon or other bayer are nowhere near the realism and dramatic effect of the images that come from the Sigma SD1. Resolution, download a sigma sd1 (200 iso) file and resize it to 40x90cm at 300 dpi in photoshop, sharpen properly and c the amount of upsize a sigma sd1 file can handle. it is on par with the d800, to my eye it's even nicer to look at. i did prints 3m wide at iso 200 and 400 from SD1, superb even from a close inspection. saturation, SD1 sigma handles + 20 to +30 and looks terrifically organic. at iso higher than 600 the sigma sucks! unusable. this is the sacrifice, every prize has a sacrifice. it will be a revolution the day when Sigma finds a solution to hi iso noise without compromising low iso color and resolution quality, if they can survive until then. the foveon sensor is like color transparency film, it captures not only an image but also the spirit of it.
