I am sooo glad about it... In fact, I can't remember how many times I was trying to postulate that approach: less MP, reasonably-sized sensor (still small, but not miniscule), coupled with a fast lens - possible for the very same reason, a small sensor, physically enabling compact, but still fast lens...

I only hope that camera is fast in operation as well, for now it seems like Fuji just scored here with me, it probably will be (99%) either X10, or X-S1 for me! It was a long wait since my Panasonic FZ30 :) (different beasts, I know... yet hard to make my mind between them, my needs also have changed since my earlier ultrazoom bridge days)

Quite impressive for a small sensor ISO 3200. I could even read some of the signs inside the store.

not sure if you can have RAW output from EXR modes...

You can. But Fujifilm doesn't go out of its way to tell you that :)

I wonder how the Canon S100 compares; from what I've seen, the Canon excels at high ISO but isn't as good at low.

"Artist's impression", was the phrase that popped-up in my mind...
