At first I was thinking of Fuji X10. The only thing Fuji X10 cannot change lens like J1. The high ISO of J1 is very good already, and reached the specfication for my needs. Some thing I expext from , low noise at high ISO, and some thing that I can explore for bird photography esp. in low lighting condition. Well the long lens I am having put less weight when carrying a J1 or V1R. For bird photography I don't need a large size sensor.
Low light, high iso picture is very good for the small sensor. Advantage on small camera. Price is a bit too high.
Decent but not spectacular...
Any premium compacts can produce result such as this.
just like you. you're not spectacular either
Er.... why has the ISO been left out of all the images that exhibit noise?
Because the highest ISO settings list their ISO as 'Hi' or something like that, so the EXIF reader in our gallery system doesn't understand it. I'll add them manually if I can.
Pretty decent for its sensor size :) can't say the same for price/value though.
Frankly, this is WAY better than expected in low light, but still, you can't produce much bokeh with such a small sensor (unless your f drops under f2 or something). But very nice sensor in general!
This is a better test than the well-lit fried eggs iso3200 shot seen earlier in the gallery. In well-lit areas it looks OK, but in the shadows just mush.
I agree, with the sensor size we cant expect miracles, but i did expect a little better. Im sure the AF is pretty nice though if its faster vs the d3s.
Quite amazing with such a small photo-site ! 2 times smaller than with a D7000 yet the result is pretty impressive. It looks like engineers did a great job. I look forward to see what they will do with D400 or D800.
