Because European Eagle Owls nest near by and have attacked Humans and dogs. An Eagle Owl can prey on animals as large as Roe Deer.

These flowers belong to the burdock plant. The well known dandelion and burdock drink is made from the roots of this plant. Note the little hooks around the flower, the burrs which aid seed distribution by catching on animal fur (and clothes!).
