Thanks for the post:
I don't have any of these cameras, but I have the EF 50mm f/1.4 and a EF 24mm 1.4 and when I see you are using a FX 35mm f1.4 in the Fuji x pro, I don't think is representative. Beside that the 50mm f/1.4 will not be in the same class lens in terms of color contrast and sharpness with the fuji lens you are using and I am not taking into a count the DOF for sharpness at these apertures. I don't think the set up of any of the Canon cameras was done right (or fair) for this comparison since you can change the color tones of both camera to come out of camera to match the fuji.

If what you want to do is compare lenses is another story...

Don't get me wrong I think the fuji must be a great camera but this specific test is not fair for any of this canon products.

But if you have those Canon 5ds, don't you have a better lens to test these cameras? I love and hate my 50mm 1.4 lens but most of the time I hate it...

This test was to compare bot cameras at an equal field of view. The 50mm on the full frame Canon matches the Fuji 35mm which turns into a 53mm field of view equivalent. Due to the shallower depth of field on the Canon I stopped it down to 1.8 to get an equal calculated DOF for both.

I just redid the test with a tripod and a static object: http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1020&message=41031757

I think llopart's point was that you can not compare two unique sensors with different lenses. Yes the focal distance is very similar but lens quality is the primary contributor to image clarity. Clearly the fuji 35mm is a sharper lens than the canon 50mm 1.4
