A lucky and very unexpected shot. I've been tracking this juvenile Cooper's for about five weeks now...though I could hear her just about every time I walked out my front door, I've only caught a few fleeting glimpses of her thru the trees as she'd fly overhead. Needless to say I was thrilled to the teeth when she parked herself atop the 100 foot pine tree just above me and started yapping up a storm...some crows had invaded her turf and she was giving 'em a piece of her mind, so to speak and I managed to turn my camera skyward just as she lifted off to sort them out. Not the best snap I've ever taken, but I finally got a halfway decent shot of a raptor in air!
