Taking a break in the heat of the day, this dragonfly with its turquoise blue colouring sat rested on a night lilly, just waiting for me to capture the scene, using a macro lens to gain maximum detail.

This shot was taken at the Orchid Garden, part of the Taman Tasik Perdana (The Lake Gardens) Kuala Lumpur. This dragonfly took a few seconds out from finding a partner to rest its wings, and I quickly moved in to take the shot. Having the blurry green background helps highlight the golden colours of our patient model.

This shot was taken at the Orchid Garden, part of the Taman Tasik Perdana (The Lake Gardens) Kuala Lumpur. Dragonflies are the most delicate of creatures, but when in flight nearly impossible to capture well, here at rest there is just enough time to grab that shot of all the subtle detail and fragility in wings of air.
