I have to say that Fractilius by Redfield Plugins is great fun - and definitely worth its modest cost. On PS6, I find it best to to duplicate the image, "fractiliusate" it and then reduce the "Deckkraft", to around 50% or so to let the original image dictate structure and then try adding the colour lookup and curves. Sometimes the preset negative or cross developing can generate really unexpected results.

Oh, and the gaussian blur is also helpful - generally within the range 2,4 - 4,5
