Without HD, the colours have more zing, but the shadows lose detail. These two shots are straight out of the camera.

Newcastle NSW. Shooting handheld with the wide angle accessory lens, this didn't come out as upright as I'd hoped, and wastes a lot of fg to keep verticals upright. But the HD mode added some shadow detail not in the next shot
