:: One small step for man, one giant leap for a carrot
Taken on: Jan 22, 2010
When I first saw this freshly pulled carrot, I knew I was going to take this picture. It just screamed Apollo take-off..................
My sense of correctness is slightly skewed to the abnormal lately....................

Taken on: Jan 22, 2010
Patriotism should be avoided in school lessons because British history is “morally ambiguous”, a leading educational body recommends.........History and citizenship lessons should stick to the bare facts rather than encouraging loyalty to Britain when covering subjects such as the Second World War or the British Empire, the Institute of Education researchers said. Teachers should not instil pride in what they consider great moments of British history, as more shameful episodes could be downplayed or excluded.

:: Hanging by a thread
Taken on: Jan 22, 2010
Why is it that my heart leaves me hanging by a thread; usually a precarious one.
To let go isn't to forget, not to think about, or ignore. It doesn't leave feelings of anger, jealousy, or regret. Letting go isn't about winning or losing. It's not about pride and it's not about how you appear, and it's not obsessing or dwelling on the past. Letting go isn't blocking memories or thinking sad thoughts, and doesn't leave emptiness, hurt, or sadness. It's not about giving in or giving up. Letting go isn't about loss and it's not about defeat. To let go is to cherish the memories, but to overcome and move on. It is having an open mind and confidence in the future. Letting go is learning and experiencing and growing. To let go is to be thankful for the experiences that made you laugh, made you cry, and made you grow. It's about all that you have, all that you had, and all that you will soon gain. Letting go is having the courage to accept change, and the strength to keep moving. Renata

"No one would have believed, in the last years of the nineteenth century, that this world was being watched, keenly and closely, by intelligences greater than man's.
Yet across the gulf of space, minds that are to our minds, as ours are to those of the beasts that perish, intellects vast and cool and unsympathetic, regarded this earth with envious eyes, and slowly and surely drew their plans against us."
H.G. Wells

:: Bad apple discrimination
Taken on: Jan 22, 2010
Is he such a bad apple, or is it his outward appearance that offends?
Is he really such a 'pomme de terror'?
Maybe his fall from the tree was a little harder than the other childrens. Should that be any reason to be weary of him, or afraid, or worse still, taunt him for his situation?
Children can be cruel, but I believe they are conditioned to be that way, watching their peers reactions.
Break the chain.

Taken on: Jan 22, 2010
In the absence of any sultry female willing to pose for me with a chocolate bar, I had to make use of the services of a professional model. Shes been a model since before she can remember. Straight out of the box so-to-speak...........

Madcap posing on level 3 of the Sage building.
Out of all the silliness we had yesterday, this is probably the only one that I can post up here, due to Alex's contorted facial expressions from laughing, being unfit for viewing.

Taken on: Jan 22, 2010
A big thanks to Mr. Fred Nath, for his generosity prior to my taking this shot. I only wish I had had more time to relax, unwind and chillout, at his wonderfully welcoming home. I more than made do with his gifts, one of which, was this bubbly-licious beaujolais imbibe. Very warming indeed; its effects still lingering in my systems as I uploaded this to flickr. Nice............
