This is a shot of the same spot at Ruby Beach in Olympic National Park as the previous one posted a few days ago, except that the sun is framed to shine through the haystack. I have tried to get starburst shots of the rising/setting sun with the EF-S 10-22 a few times, never satisfied. For one thing, there are flares all over. I had to get rid of many here. Secondly, the effect is not as crisp as I would like. I don't know if a hood would have helped, but I would have expected better flare resistance from this lens. I have seen people create fake starbursts with filters, but that's not my cup of tea. This is my best effort so far. I have a few more that I'll work on later. An asymmetric and wide (10mm) perspective of Mesa Arch at sunrise, shot from close to the edge of the cliff to get the valley in view as well. I started with a single exposure RAW, made 4 different exposures from it, then layered them in photoshop.
