Nikon V2 with 70-300 mm f4.5 5.6 CX or FX (with FT1)

Which lens is to be preferred? The one with the CX vatting or the FX vatting plus adapter?

The CX lens is very highly rated and gives you more focal points. It is more expensive. The FX lens on the FT1 is still a nice combination.

We (the wife and I) had both, but after a lot of shooting side by side I decided to sell the old 70-300, to invest in the CX version.

Ultimately, it is sharper in its long end, and there is a dramatic difference in weight! In the short end I am not totally convinced the difference is much to talk about, but from 200 onwards, my, my!

Focusing with the CX can sometimes take some time (use AF-C and Limiter ON!), so it isn't perfect, but its IQ is!

I have both and the CX lens is sharper, lighter and has better VR. It makes the V3 for bird imaging.
