Re: Trying to get the Raynox 150 to work
In reply to manthasfamily, 4 months ago

My advice: Take your subject inside. Set up a couple of desk lamps with daylight CFL bulbs for light. Put down some black paper for background. I use some florist foam to hold flowers (stems) and some foliage. Now you have some control. This is what I've been doing as I am fairly new to my cameras, filters and macro in general. As I get more used to distances for the glass to subject at whatever at however many mm focal length I'll do more in natural settings.

That's a wall hanger. I would never have thought to do this one in B&W but it really works!

Thanks for the thread, Yuki.

Went back to the same place as last weekend, early so there was no crowd, the sun was still low behind the hills, generally cool weather but the mossies were up early

Not sure if this is a mosquito, but seems too colorful to be one

Furry drabness

More drabness but this fella looks a bit more attractive

I think those are pollen grains on its back and forehead(?)

Peg,

Unusual but effective B&W.  Also, infallible logic.

I used spot metering for this shot taken on Palomar Mountain, and I thought the FZ200 did a good job.
