How can one knows it's silly before to read it ? Only by the title .

...or maybe I had a bad hair day and needed to grumble !?!

Soooo we complain when people take pics of their cats at home, and when they actually decide to go out and travel, we complain about that too. It's a great world we live in.

They should just take their bløødy cat with them and not come back ! EVER !

I think I'll start a new thread: "What lenses should I have taken to Hawaii?"

Indeed it could be interesting if someone tells us which lens he should have taken when visiting some place, and explaining why !

Has anyone ever counted the number of thread titles with: "I'm going to France/Italy/Spain/etc... , what lens should I take ?" ????

It's getting ridiculous ! Why all these people don't MAKE A SEARCH for existing threads on the same subject prior to write their own ? Besides, aren't they grown-up enough to IMAGINE what kind of lens one usually could/would use when visiting a city, museum, church, mountain, etc... ??

i aleays take my 70-200 f4 with VR ... this is important, because it is usually not good light there and VR helpd a lot. i choose this lens, because it gives me good sharpness on this place and i can do macro shots and nice closeups.
do you take prims or zooms?

... well, normally I don't take anyone!

You may not be able to use any lens in a restricted area,

so go where there's an open door policy.

Made famous by Mark Tucker:

http://marktucker.wordpress.com/2011/01/21/homemade/

you can DIY:

And your rant wasn't lost on me ... I figure there are either a lot of people who just aren't confiident in their photographic knowledge or who just want an excuse to chat about their gear.
