Going to the toilets... what lens should I take ?

[RANT ON]

Has anyone ever counted the number of thread titles with: "I'm going to France/Italy/Spain/etc... , what lens should I take ?" ????

It's getting ridiculous ! Why all these people don't MAKE A SEARCH for existing threads on the same subject prior to write their own ? Besides, aren't they grown-up enough to IMAGINE what kind of lens one usually could/would use when visiting a city, museum, church, mountain, etc... ??

going to the Dunny in Aus. , I'd take my 500vr just in case there was a Funnel-Web hanging about .  I guess it would depend on what part of the world the Toilet was located in

Have a good one anyway

i aleays take my 70-200 f4 with VR ... this is important, because it is usually not good light there and VR helpd a lot. i choose this lens, because it gives me good sharpness on this place and i can do macro shots and nice closeups.
do you take prims or zooms?

Best rant/humor combo. All we need now is the comic illustration. Charlie Brown seems appropriate.

Better make sure that your protruding front element doesn't dangle in the water.

always remain aware of your surroundings and of others in the facilities. Show the lens at the wrong time and you may find yourself carrying that lens in a manner you would not have anticipated!

"Sick cultures show a complex of symptoms such as you have named...but a dying culture invariable exhibits personal rudeness. Bad manners. Lack of consideration for others in minor matters. A loss of politeness, of gentle manners is more significant than a riot."
This symptom is especially serious in that an individual displaying it never thinks of it as a sign of ill health but as proof of his/her strength. ...Friday, it is too late to save this culture--this worldwide culture... Therefore we must now prepare the monasteries for the coming Dark Age. Electronic records are too fragile..."

Yep, definitely an exotic telephoto is required.

And I'd also suggest that UV or neutral filter plus plenty of lens wipes is to be recommended.
