Nice shots. I also like the cat best - looks a lot like my Mom's cat.

I've got a 70mm that has not been on the camera in a long time. your photos are a good reminder - I think I'll grab it on the next time out with the SD9.

Here's a Glacier photo from the Iceland trip i've just processed today.

Taken with the SD1 Merrill and 8-16mm DC lens.

Kind regards Lea.

OK, so it's flowers this weekend...
In reply to larryj, 11 months ago

We've had a brief return to winter weather, with rain and daytime temps in the upper 50's. I guess the flowers liked it...

All photos from my backyard. I wanted to use a higher f-stop for some as it was a bit windy.

Two More Pasque Flowers for 'Flower Weekend'
In reply to larryj, 11 months ago

Here are a couple more pasque flower for the weekend pix.  This group was a deep purple color and really set off by the bright yellow stamen.  SD1M and the 105 mm OS lens.

Really nice detail in these flowers Larry.

I've been debating whether to get the DP3M or a better macro lens for the SD1. I know, I know - get both!

A friend & I were exploring some local woods and came across a tree that stood out among the others........saying "that's pretty cool". A couple of days later we went back in with her bringing a change of clothes, and captured the image below.

Actually 3 DP2M images, stitched together with Microsoft Ice Planar Rotation 1. Images straight out of SPP with sharpening set to -1.

Pretty happy with the result so I thought I'd share it, 50% of finished size but the original is very nice. Hopefully it will make a nice 12" x 36" print for her wall.

Window flowers
In reply to JohnLindroth, 11 months ago

Hi all. Just took delivery of my DP2M last week so I have a *lot* to learn about this lovely camera. I have already had a RTFM moment over the 'phone with a helpful Sigma UK tech guy. I admit I usually left my previous camera (Canon D350)  in Program mode or Aperture mode so I am looking forward to learning much more about the basics of photography.

Anyway, here is one of my first shots, SOOC JPEG from the Raw file

Flowers 4.5

. I tried one at 2.8 and this one at 4.5. I am trying to wean myself off minimum DOF in every still-life! The composition is flawed because of limited room at the window, that is where an articulated LCD would have been nice!

Awesome double rainbow in back yard.

BTW my file number reset so I finally shot 10,000 picts with my SD14.

Yes, that's a beautiful landscape. It would justify a big print.

Thank you all. Autumn is prime now down in the South and I've just spent a long week end in and around Wanaka. The landscape was just breathtaking.
