Again not cats you'd call kitty to their face, they might not like it and again these are from the zoo. They are the Lynx and the Cougar (Mountain Lion or Puma).

Very nice, Mike! That closeup of that cougar staring you down in shot number three makes me pretty sure you were REALLY GLAD just about then that there was solid protection between YOU and the cougar... looked like he meant business!

Mike, excellent shots very sharp. Also looks like you were able to get up fairly close. Did you use the 60-250mm lens?

I don't mind the guess Tom, but i don't think the 60-250mm F4 can shoot at F2.8 All shots were with the Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 APO EX (Not DG)

Excellent series Mike.  The Lynx is a beautiful cat.  I saw and photographed one at Northwest Trek Wild Life Preserve out in Washington back in 2011.  They seem to be content with captivity.  Cougars are another story.  At Northwest Trek they have had two who have managed to climb a rather high fence and escape.  They had one at Northwest Trek and it just paced and tried to run in the limited area it was housed in.  The Michigan DNR has  as of 2012, acknowledged that cougars do exist in the upper peninsula thanks to an excellent trail cam shot taken near Marquette.  Unfortunately a group of hunters shot and killed a cougar outside of Manistique late last year.  They claimed it was self defense bur cougars rarely attack people and are very reclusive

Maybe i'm foolish but i wouldn't mind having no fence, I'm not sure he meant business, he was stretching and checking out the people looking for a weakness, he took a strong interest in any kids that ran by

Interesting, but I could say the closest thing we have to a Kangaroo is a Bunny Rabbit or a Hare so i suppose its pretty clear different place are suited for difference animals

Interesting stuff Jim, Yes many animals don't care to get into a tangle with people and would rather just move to another area when people show up.
