I havent' gotten around to downloading shots from this past weekend, so I have to delve into a few from last weekend with my A580, and a few from my NEX around my yard.
Now a few from the NEX-5N, 55-210mm lens, and 1.7x teleextender, in my backyard, shooting from the swimming pool:

I like the least bittern and the squirrel, is always a winner.

Quite a mix of creatures this week. We have some voles that look like your water rat. Round nose and cute too.
All nice images, especially the last raccoon licking it's snout. Never knew the NEX5 could make such nice photos.
You got some great shots last week Justin. The light on the Bittern is perfect - lots of great detail too. Nice pose of the Whistling Duck. And, the Raccoon shots are dynamite. Amazing that they'll come to the edge when you are in there!
Beauties! That 1st one is just perfect!
Nice stuff. I'm guessing the lighting was difficult
Slow week. Only got out twice and saw virtually nothing

My vulture neighbors came back again for a visit.
Anyway, I have had enough, and there is now a plastic owl on the balcony. I guess it works, because I have not seen them back since then.
Great shots...I wish i could hang out in your pool, that raccoon is so adoarable. I just got in a heated discussion on animal cruelty/rights with a few trappers on the web. Thanks for sharing-brian
What a great variety of shots.Boy that minolta 400 apo can give some wicked bokeh..The 'prettiest' vulture picture i have ever seen. The limkin is nice and very possibly even around because of your presence.
Nice on the redtail are their more red shoulder and other hawks in the area? The night heron 300 3.2? pretty sweet...very sharp and nice focus. Thanks for sharing-brian
Fun in the Pool , I have not ventured in mine yet still a bit Chilly water prob another week will be good though, Those Bitteren are cool and as far as I know we don't have those here nice colors , Winston my Pappion keeps the Critters out of the Back yard for the most part but the other night he went head to head with a Opossum till I broke it up but the Squirrels Taunt him unmercifully .
As Usual Justin Nice ones.
How True Ed , I went up to Hawk lake over the weekend and twice around the lake and no clicks of merit , Couple weeks ago I could spend hours there , I have had better luck in the late afternoon lately at a Nature preserve couple miles from home , Looking forward to summer tides to get the Skiff into the Back country, Nice on your Doe there she seems OK with you .
Looking Forward to seeing the Young uns pretty soon out and about , How is your Hawk population ?
You Nailed him Alex nice N Sharp as Usual and he is a Pretty Cool Bird and nice colors.
