Me? Yup! I won't ever reach perfection but that will never stop me from trying.

Yes I have got better over a decade, but I'm not searching for perfection, so have already reached a standard that I am happy with, so if I never get any better then it won't matter.

Yep! Every day.

Since I was 13 years old. That's 51 years of steady improvement.  I think I've worked my way up to OK.

Yes! But I'm still a digital newbie.  I have a lot to learn about my camera and lenses, and as I learn it, my images improve.  I know from past experience that as I come to understand the gear, further improvements will have to come from my eye and my choices-- and those are harder to train and refine.

Perhaps but the rate of improvement is glacial. However, my cameras have improved in leaps and bounds.

Nah. I've been going downhill since I was 15. And that was in 1959.

Each day I wake up, another lucky day, something new can be discovered or learned from manuals, YouTube vids, even listening to those with much more experience here. But you have to discover which posters are genuine experienced, opposed to those who just like to talk a lot.

My improvements often happen when I'm not reading all thee interesting threads here...

Cameras have advanced so far today, the numerous controls and parameters within the menus.

Even the photographers lingo has grown and each camera manufacture has their own names for some things.

Much like PC's versus Macs, desk top-home screen, programs-apps, you need to learn a new language.

Do I know that feeling!  But at least my post processing is getting better, it really stunk back in the '50s.

Nope!
In reply to TRIODEROB, 8 months ago

Like Leonard, I was pretty good in my youth. I worked on improving through my 30's. However, lately I have been trying to get worse. Let me explain! Just like new music in the 1970s, we are getting to the point where every conceivable photograph has already been taken. And likely taken by somebody who is/was great. So my only avenue of doing anything new is to regress - grunge up my photography if you will. And so I do - especially my film work, since that gives me the added advantage of working in a different medium than do most photographers. (I must admit, I try not to get too far from the mainstream with my digital work.)

So there you have it - no, I am not getting better. Quite the opposite if I had my way.

Aren't you?    There will be periods of self-doubt and ruts to work through, but if you don't give up whatever wall one encounters will eventually crumble.   There's a series of walls to break through in that regard.

If I ever stop getting better at photography, I'll find something else challenging to do.

Yes. Continously in the last 15 years since I decided to take Photography as my "official" hobby. It includes to make the pic, handling the light, planning for it and, of course, post processing.

The corollary is I have no obsession to retrieve the post processing process I made for my pictures as I am plenty sure today I can make it better and faster than in the past.

All the best,
