Such togetherness and contentment - the bookend shots tell the story.

Chance

This is Chance. He is a 15.5 yrs old Birman and is my first cat.

He is a difficult cat to photograph as he tends to squint his eyes in normal daylight and also seems to be able to anticipate the shutter release of my camera and I would end up almost all the time with shots of him with his eyes shut. Thank goodness for high ISO capable cameras.

To fight or not to fight, that is the question.
In reply to robert j, 9 months ago

You are in my way

Come on move a little

I don't like to be pushed !

They didn't fight, Bblitzer was not impressed by Athos "attack"

The second shot really captures Athos' displeasure - he was already planning the paw across the back.

Hi Wayne,

That really great that your cats can walk freely in the wood, I would really afraid that Athos and Blitzer wouldn't come back to me when I let them run free.

Well, I kind of hate shooting the same cat...
In reply to robert j, 9 months ago

...although it is in a different pose.

Here's Sheba - doing what she does best - that is, commandeering our bed during the day so she can spread out and act like a Diva.

This one happened to be shot with the NX300 and the Metz 44 AF flash (dedicated for Samsung).  Normally, I'd shoot these scenes with one of my regular 4/3 or micro 4/3 cameras.  But I was playing with the NX300 that date...oh well.

Have a great one....

Sunday Cat meet Tinker
In reply to robert j, 9 months ago

Another day another one of those student move oversea and left their cats behind.

Mrs always wanted one of this cat, I am not too positive because C/D are already high maintenance and we're always 2 cats house.  Adding another one kinda out of my comfort zone, life is short so if she want it sure.

Tinker is a good cat, love to be around people and purr like no other cat.  The biggest problem with tinker is eat, she don't like food, any food.  She will only eat if you're in the room with her for long period of time.  I have no idea how she is going to mix in, let see how it go.

Oh, she is 1 1/2 year old and not fix, Dave jump on her all them time even nothing is going to happen.

She doesn't go outside, yet. Not sure if I'll let her, there's too many predators in the area. Mainly that fox that likes to hunt rabbits and cats...

Finally some warmer weather, open the door and see if C/D want to get some flesh air.  They do even they hated ice.

What is this cold white stuff?

I am going no matter what it is

I want to go home.

All of the cats we care for were born in the wild, so being outdoors is essential to their well-being.  In years past, Buster has gone on extended walkabouts, once for two months.  Eddie disappeared one winter for a month starting just before Christmas and returned a bag of bones.  He doesn't stray very far now.  Anna and Gracie are sometimes out for two to three days, but my wife sends me out to call for them - they seem to forget themselves.

You say commandeer, while your cat believes that it is a good use of available space.

Nice shots of Tinker - give the cats some time to adapt.  We've noticed that older cats that are set in their ways become more accepting over time.
