Nikon 1s are fine if you like ISO noise.

The focusing on the existing ones is pretty damn good already, but the noise was too much for me (i owned one)

Hard to compare a camera with an APS sensor with one that has a sensor 1/4 the size.

A more accurate comparison would be between the v3 and RX10.

Yeah, just like the 2013 Ferrari 458 Spyder is outdated by the 2014 Citroen DS3 cabrio.

What's do you think of it?

I'm not sure how you came to that conclusion... seems silly.

What's do you think of it?

Interesting camera but way too expensive at present... B&H want $1200 with kit lens, EVF and grip

I think they've mispriced it - a mistake they also made with the v1 when it was launched. My local high-street store is currently selling v1's (built-in EVF) for CHF250 ($280) incl. sales tax!

Strange as the 24mp 3200 DSLR seems like a real bargain (currently just under $500 at B&H with kit lens)

What do I thing of it?
It's an interesting camera, it needs a built in EVF to be of any interest to me, other than that, the sensor is too small, mounting anything but native glass is a joke, I'll take my A7r thanks.

Yikes, that's steep. I wonder how much they would want for body and lens only?

The 70-300mm is also steep at $1000.   Plus it has a 62mm filter size, which means its pretty large.

Than any AF camera out there. Its point and shoot (any lag only attributable to shutter lag which is measured at 0.022s for NEX-6.

I missed bidding on a Like New V1 w/10-30 kit lens by about 20 minutes (got stuck in traffic). It was on my watch list. The winning bid was: $6.45 ($14 shipping).

That was a fraction of the price I typically see them going for ($125-150). For $20, I would have taken it.

Not even close to what you get on the A6000 for a much lower price.

Let me know when the V3 sensor magically turns into a APS-C sensor..

Nikon 1 plays in its own niche. I don't think a lot of people interested in APS-C or m43 mirrorless would be interested in Nikon 1, and some Nikon 1 fans probably aren't interested in larger camera systems.

I'm not honestly sure exactly what niche the Nikon 1 appeals to ... it's an odd camera with a unique set of pros & cons.

Same price as Sony's 70-300G. The smaller image circle doesn't make much difference.

I think there will be a lot of people choosing between the V3 and A6000.

V3 might be nice if you want a day time use camera that can do 20fps with focus.

Both should give great photos printed or on a computer screen....and I can just imagine a lot of Newspaper reporters getting a V3 .....press the shutter for a second or two and send the photos to the editor to choose.....there goes some more Photographer jobs...

I wont get either but either would be nice.

Eh?

  1. The 70-300mm G is overpriced.
  2. The 70-300mm G covers a full frame sensor. Not a 1" sensor
