D600 shutter replacement = D610 ?

Sorry if the forum thinks this is a silly question but, when Nikon service do a replacement of D600 shutter, will it become a D610? If so, I want a new sticker, to put in front of the camera instead of the old....!

Nikon D600 Nikon D610

even if they fit the same shutter assembly, there are a few incremental changes between them

.5 fps increase

Apparently a quiet continuous mode (I say because some say they can't tell the difference)

apparently weaker AA filter

Close but not the same...

either way the IQ is first class..

A new market niche

Opportunity abounds: now I can start a successful business selling D610 stickers. No trampling needed, people. Just line up. There's plenty for everyone.

You forgot better white balance under artificial lighting.

Re: missed that

I think a shutter replacement and firmware upgrade is equal to a D610.

A firmware update couldn't add the quiet continuous mode.  Though personally since you can get a refurb D600 for around $1500 and Nikon will replace the shutter for free if necessary and the only new feature that really interests me is the better white balance it would be a hard choice for me between spending $400 more on the D610 instead of putting it toward a lens, flash, batteries, ect.

Very interesting if there is a weaker AA filter.

Thank you all  for the comments

I really like my D600, but

If the difference in price locally is not muchI'd poetically still go for the D610

No one seems to be reporting oil or dust on them so you'd be relieved of the time necessary for shutter replacement

As of now I would definitely buy a used D600 from a reputable source and save even more

Just my 2 cents

^^^^^^^^^^^^

these guys...:-D

idk. my 600 takes amazing pictures. I only noticed spots when I went small A for macro. What surprised me was getting thru to service and their quick action. Couldn't believe I was talking to Nikon. And for those going for the fix, the advisory says they will pay postage BOTH WAYS. Of course you have to ask.

maybe with a grip I could throw a D3 sticker on there

Just keep clicking, something will turn out fantastic.
