>>>>Weekly "Is it ART?"<<<< Thread, March 1, 2014
Looks like we're still on a roll with "Artistic" photos - no need for realism! Things that have caught your eye, or things you have created.
Please post your "Artistic" shots - any camera, any time, even old film shots / scans.
Please reply to this first post and change the subject line at the top to reflect YOUR picture, so replies will indicate what picture is being commented on.
Please let people post photos for a day or so before posting comments so the photos get a good display for all to see.
OK, a sequal from me: last week I posted a pic of the back of a Kodachrome slide and someone mentioned that the reflected bas relief had pictorial possibilities, so I worked it into a "Fake Calotype", with apologies to Henry Fox Talbot, one of photograpy's pioneers.
Fake Calotype ("Salt Print"):

Various artforms found on the noses of airplanes.
Taken at Cromford canal Derbyshire - I had to study the image closely to be sure it was a reflection.
Best viewed here at original size, sort of went nuts in Photoshop...Dave
Be careful how you interpret the world: It is like that.
Photography is more than a medium for factual communication of ideas. It is a creative art.

Like your art Jerry, but why Olympus?
Thanks John. Those were taken long ago. I swapped that Olympus for my first Panny, A FZ5. The last shot was taken later when I had a Panny camera.
Nice shot Estero. Great detail on that one as well as nice bokeh.
Very nice composition Ron. Good rich colors. Very nice shot.
Oooowww That looks so bleak Jon. Well captured, but it gives me the shivers.
Definitely a pretty picture as well as a pretty subject. Yes it is art!!
Looks like you did those with a paintbrush Dave. They look just like watercolors. Nice.....
