The 3rd one is really adorable. Can you share the type of background that are you using. Is it Canvas/Muslin or something else ?

Cheers.

Thanks for comment.

Shot on a 12' x 24' Muslin.  I purchased six different styles when they were on a close-out sale a number of years ago (the company has closed).

Jerrith, thanks for starting the thread, I hope it continues to flourish! (My only suggestion would be to put a date in the title.)

K-aus, I agree with others -- I particularly like the second shot, great pose.

Cruzcat01, great expression in #1, a very cute shot. And you nailed the focus on the eye, which isn't always that easy with kids who never stop moving!

Hi, indeed a date in the title would be good to get them somewhat chronological. Will make sure to do this with next weeks threads!

Now what type of music would this dude like most?

Studio portrait of my little girl. Large softbox to the right and a big flash on the background drop.

The two women in my life. I'm quite lucky they let me practice in my own studio to get the hang of that lighting stuff

The SLT-99 came with an optional wireless remote and with the articulate screen you can compose and trigger remotely. Ideal if you want to be in the photograph yourself (Yes I know, I should have warn cleaner socks)

The last two were shot with the A57 and SAL 85mm. I am not very fond of this lens as I find the color rendering to be different (bluish) compared to other lenses I own.

Just great . . . Now I have to go out and buy a SAL85mm.  Just when I thought I was never buying another A mount Lens. Love the portraits.

Funnily, I am not a fan of the SAL 85mm. It is sharp and very light but I find it a bit too long on the A57. I also dont like the way it renders colors and have to spend time fixing in PP. I havent seen anyone complain about the colors before so it is possible that I have a funky copy and I did get it used off ebay.

I really like your last three images the best.  They all look very relaxed and natural with nice color and exposure.

I'll throw one in of my dad, the lighting is not the best since we were in doors and I was trying to make the best of it. I have a hard time with in door photography with awful lighting.

Good idea....I will refrain from commenting on any only because all of them are good to excellent. Nice shooting everyone*.

One from a senior photo shoot last summer. The shadows/highlights are a bit harsh but i still like the scene.

Shot open with my sigma 75-200 2.8/3.5..works fully on my a65

Thanks-brian

I've just bought a Metz 44 AF-1 for my a58. Any tips? Did you have the flash on camera for those and/or were you bouncing it off the ceiling?

I will be trying to get some nice shots at my Niece's first birthday party at the end of this week.

Thanks.

The first one was what I'd call an experiment. The latter is more the style of photography I like to do myself.
