SX50 - Car spotting - zoom fun
Feb 16, 2014

Today we took a short walk on a hill near our town. From the top of it, I spotted the back of our car:

Thank you for looking,

Augustin

And you call that a short little walk Augustin

What a great idea zooming in on your car at different lengths. It looks like a very scenery area where you live.

Enjoy the sunny weather, we're having rain for the next week here.

Thank you very much! I'm happy you like the shots Unfortunately the area we live in has hills only, to the mountains we have to drive some 5 hours

All the best,

Augustin

Thank you very much, Rob! I'm happy you enjoyed my series! But it deceived you about the distance to our car: on descending we (my wife and I) reached it in less than an hour Just compare that to the one day hikes Evan delighted us with!

Happy shooting,

Augustin

Hehe...the area seems so familiar and then I saw that u posted. Nice job. I like if u will take pics witha all of yours cameras from the same point and then compare the image quality. I hope this year I`ll buy a Nikon P600 or SX50 replacer. Thanks. (multumesc, si eu sunt tot roman, din Drobeta Turnu Severin)

I really like what you did here Augustin, what a great idea.

That first shot is absolutely beautiful. I love the composition, contrast, color, and the clarity is exceptional. This has got to be one of the sharpest landscapes I have seen this camera produce. Did you use a tripod, or was this handheld?

I like the lone tree on the ridge line, and the forested slope in the background, it seems to be begging for a closer exploration. What a beautiful place to visit. I am happy to see that you are out hiking and sharing your beautiful country, and photographic talents with us. You must be feeling better!

A very skillful demonstration Augustin, well done my friend well done!!!!

Hello Augustin Man,

Looking at the first shot, it is hard to believe that you could read a stop-sign from that distance.  Amazing!

Thank you very much, Evan, for your kind words! All shots were handheld, but at the telephoto end I took several shots, then chose the best one, as I usually did.

We hiked all the hills around our town and there are some nice places, although nothing to be compared by the high mountain beautiful majesty!

Yesterday the only creatures we met were a tethered goat and a marked doggy that show us to the car:

And, yes, a bunch of ravens that flew across so swiftly, that I couldn't even take the lens cap off

Happy shooting,

Augustin

Thank you very much, Stephen! Yes, it's quite amazing; and from the last shot you can read the plate of the car: CJ 88 TLI :

But you can also remark the distorsion of the straight lines because of the air temperature differences

All the best,

Augustin
