Do you have a resolution for 2014 ?

Well many peoples give themselves resolutions at the beginning of each year, often it's to loose weight so they go to the Gym.

I'm talking about a resolution for your photography, it can be a project, a particular subject, or get better at wildlife photography, street photography. Building a studio like Meuh did in 2013.

It can also be not buying any new lens in 2014 .... well that's impossible .... LBA is too strong

So feel free to talk about it in this thread!

I've resolved to retire from my day job so I can spend more time with my photography (shooting and showing) and related excursions, travel, etc., as well as other interests and projects.  I am highly confident that I will keep the resolution

In 1968 I made a New Year's resolution to never make any New Year's resolutions.

So far.....so good.

I have two: the first is to inspire me to get out there and shoot, so I want to take one photo each month that I'm really, really proud of. The second is just to stay organized! It's a real pain to transfer photos to external hard drives, back up to the cloud, etc. etc. but it really must be done.

Good, i agree that backing all those photos to external hard drive is not a fun part of Digital photography !

For me it's just to get back to shooting. I went on a hiatus for a couple of years. I got sick of the bulk of the K20d and didn't get back into photography until I picked up a Panny LX5. Loving the K5ii now.

It can also be not buying any new lens in 2014 .... well that's impossible .... LBA is too strong

Too late for me. I saw a good deal on the Rokinon 8mm f/3.5 fisheye and got one.

One: take fewer photographs but do it more often, rather than in ill-disciplined splurges

Two: finish sorting out ten years of semi-organised photographs on two external drives

Three: use the full range of lenses I have, rather than yielding to the LBA itch.

Four: buy a cheap K-01 or K30 body and find out if focus-peaking will change my life

This years resolution:

Shoot RAW more often.

Last years resolutions:

Come up with a way to organize photos. (accomplished)

Don't buy any more cameras with 1/2.3 inch sensors.  (lasted only a few months until my wife wanted a pocket zoom for vacation with her sisters.)

So feel free to talk about it in this thread!

I still like good 14 megapickles.

6000x4000, God willing, I shall leave for 2015 or 2016

New years resolutions often take a few attempts with me  but I usually get there

2012: was  to shoot RAW and not buy any more lenses.

I only bought 3 (expensive) lenses and one of those was while still in January.  RAW shooting didnt really take off until I had time in the latter half of the year.

score: 0.5 out of 2

2013:  I bought a K-5IIs in November '12   so my  2013 was to not buy any more cameras or lenses,  shoot RAW (mostly) all the time, and  use Flash and lighting more.

I bought a  Q,  3xQ-lenses, Q-K,  an FA31 and FA135  oops.

Batteries in the Flashes always seemed to be flat on the couple of occasions I used it.

Shooting RAW pretty much exclusively now. Getting the hang of normal processing, nothing fancy. Cleaned up the archive a bit

score:  1 out of 3

2014:  To not buy any more lenses or Cameras,   make an effort get out more & do some sunrises. Organise the archive a bit better and do backups (more than 1 ext HD).

Slow down and do a roll of film occasionally with the FA's .

19 days into 2014: I've  done ONE sunrise,  processed some of the archive from a big trip in 2012,  and backed up everything to 1 external harddrive  and the another is ready to go.

I haven't bought anything yet except a $6 lenshood for FA31.

looking OK so far.
