debug mode for K5ii

I checked and calibrated all my lens on my K5ii this weekend. One of them seems way out of range (+/-10) of the cameras cababilities. I predict sth close to -24 based on my other camera/lens combinations.

Is there a debug mode for K5ii, especially a SD-card driven one?

Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure about this, but, pk_tether has a debug mode. I know it worked on my k10/7, not tried it on my IIs though. Just google pk tether, its a small free download.

I have used pk_tether ( http://www.pktether.com/ ) with my K-5 II to read out the AF correction in debug mode (it was/is 0 µm).

I don't know of a SD-card solution for the K-5. I have used it with my K-10D some time ago.

If only one lens is off more than +/-10, it may be better to send the lens in for service.

Thank you both for your reply.

My lens is actually older than me but is great. I may cosider sending it in for AF callibration as I'd love to use it with CIF with K5ii.

But I'll first use the programm suggested. It costs neither time not money:).

If anyone else nows of a SD-card solution...

I think CIF only works with manual lenses....

Hi Younes B,

my AF lenses are within +/-10 range

Hellios 58 and K135 are manual lenses.

CIF work with Pentax AF lenses that have AF/MF switch on them.

I am not sure about other brand AF lenses with AF/MF switc. Ron/others can verify..

All pentax lenses that have an AF/MF switch on the lens can do CIF. Some non-Pentax lenses that have the AF/MF switch on the lens can do CIF.

The below info was written a long time ago but is equally valid for current models of Pentax cameras.

Links to previous catch-in-focus info that I wrote about.

Tripod mounted Catch-in-focus (for hummingbirds) using autofocusing lenses that do not have the AF/MF switch on the lens.

EDIT: Here is one more that I did - CIF using AF lens.
