I am haveing a problen with my some NEF files from my D700 in that I can not make any kind of adjustments to the files.
The files that can not be adjusted have a pecular sympol to the right of the name of the file.
Expmple: _DSC3355NEF (Symbol)
This symbol consists of a small square with a line going down perpendicular to the square.
The square also has a line going to the right with another square at its end.
The line going down from the original square has three more branches going to the right of different lengths also terminating with squares.
I have never seen this symbol and do not know what it is.
Photos with this symbol can not be modified in either ViewNX2 nor Capture One.
Can anyone give me some input to this problem?
The symbol you describe means that the file has been opened, modified and then saved in NIkon Capture NX2 (CNX2). Files with this symbol can no longer be edited in ViewNX.
Thank you for your input. It appears to be the answer.
I can not modify the file in Capture One Pro either.
I have right clicked on the file in View NX2 and the It allows me to protect the file with the key symbol, but I can not unprotect it.
Do you know of a way to unprotect these files so the can be further modified using another photo modifying system?
Once the file has been modified in CNX2 there does not appear to be any way of making it re-editable in viewNX, I don't have any experience with capture1 but the files are still editable in Adobe Camera Raw.
