Battery life on SX160
Dec 12, 2013

I am contstantly changing batteries on the above camera.

I have tried rechargeable and regular ones but there is no difference between the life of them.

Can someone who has the above camera recommend to me a good battery?

Thanks

I have no idea what sort and model battery your camera uses.

It is the MaHr value that determines how much power they will store, assuming you don't have a fault in your camera, I can only suggest trying ones with a higher MaHr rating. (milliamp/hour)

What batteries was the camera supplied with and are your eleloops equal or higher MaHr.

Edit: sorry Joe, I thought I was responding to the OP.

Thanks for replying everyone.

I am using Duracell Alkaline MN1500 1.5 LR6 or Duracell Rechargeable 1,2 /2000 mAH. No batteries came with the camera.

Please advise if the above are not good enough for the camera.

I would not use the first type, they would have no where near enough power.

The second ones should be able to work, but they need to be NiMh type with a suitable battery charger matched to that type.  I think you can get up to 3000 MaHr now, that would be even better but the rechargables you have should work if they are still in good condition.  They do deteriorate if left flat for a long time.
