Evening Light at Cambridge (R1 image)

Not been out with my camera for a while, so I was pleased to chance upon some good light during a family trip to Cambridge at the weekend. Just the one image here as time was scarce, but I shall definitely return in the future..

that's a really slow shutter

but it froze the people on the river well.  You can handhold the R1 down to very low shutter speeds because of its design.  Did you use a tripod?

Nice photo. The building looks great in the golden light.

Thanks a lot John, glad you like it. Yes the shutter speed was just quick enough to keep the people in the punts acceptably sharp. I shot from my tripod as usual, could have used a slightly wider aperture, say F11, but I wanted to keep as much front to back sharpness as possible. Always loath to increase ISO from baseline 160 on the old R1..

A beautiful shot demonstrating all the things I love about the RX1 images. At its very best when the subtle differences between the tones bring out soft lighting.
