Is there any ttl radio flash trigger for Pentax?

If not, what radio flash trigger to use my studio strobes with K5/K3 ? For now, I'm using the synch cord but it's a little bit limiting.

I don't know about TTL, but the Yongnuo RF-602 triggers work great for me for speedlights, and the RF-603 series is supposed to be just a little bit better, best of all they are cheap to experiment with.

Best of luck!

These are the only ones I've found. They don't work like regular triggers though so you might want to check out reviews first.

If you do not need them asap wait for the 603 version ii and the 560-tx controller. It allows for manual remote flash control. They are announced and about to hit the market.

Nikon mount is compatible with Pentax hot shoe, Canon mount is not.

I've checked the Nikon mount and although the contacts seem close the distance between the centre contact and the front right contact isn't the same and I doubt if they're compatible. I would appreciate if anyone has experience with the compatibility.

Thanks for your reply.

Do you know if the shoe mount is universal or it differs for each brand?

Yes and no... the setup is kinda weird to explain. Best watch and read the reviews

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-I94S9VhFsM

http://www.konraddwojak.com/2013/04/aokatec-ak-ttl-speedlightflash-trigger-short-review/

The setup is unique and is camera/flashgun independent, so any review should be helpful. I haven't tried it myself since I don't do much flash work, but from what I've heard it's fairly reliable. You can also get a starter kit for about US$80 on eBay, so the buy-in isn't bad. It's been on my to-buy list for a while now, right after some LumiQuest gear

I have successfully used nikon mount youngnuo triggers on my K-5. Can't remember the model, it was either 602 or earlier. Used without issue up to 1/160, haven't tried faster.

additionnal thought: The new yongnuo flashes are GREAT as they have the wireless receiver BUILT IN. Just 1 trigger required!
You might also want to consider cactus v5 triggers, still no TTL but very feature rich.

For studio use why not just stick with an optical system? If you don't want to 'see' the flash from the camera then get an IR trigger. Plenty of old Wein SSR systems about.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. Actually my own studio kit has the optical trigger built in. I just wanted to have the freedom to put them anywhere out side the line of sight. I wanted the ttl trigger to use my external flashes the same way and preserve the pttl function as well.
