Hi John,

Thanks for posting these, they're great.  I love the detail and the wide images.

Are these shot fully wide open?

Mike

Hallo Mike.

Thank you for your comment.I shoot most of the time in my 6:9 format since my camera goes from 24mm WA to 98 mm .Greetings: John Basso.

The 6:9 is great for covering a lot, so were these shot at 24mm?

Thanks,

Mike

Hallo Mike.

Indeed .These were shot at 24 mm WA. The DL6 zooms from 24 mm to 90mm.I like the fact that living in a city the WA is an advantage as I can take shots not possible other wise .I correct WA distortion wit PT Lens, which  I have as a plug in with the Apple software, Aperture 3 .

Interesting, I guess that correction is fairly subtle?

Lovely series.

My youngest daughter was looking over my shoulder while I viewed these and asked "Where's that?"

"Canada" I replied.

"Why is there no snow?" she asked.

Are you expecting any snow soon?

Regards

David

John, I really very much like this set of low light shots but with great details and fine colors; without mentioning the joyful mood!

Very warm regards,

You must be joking! It's -12°C at present, with about 10 cm of snow on the ground, and apparently we are expecting 15 to 20 cms on Sunday.

Cadder

Yes Mike : It is. Look at the PT Lens Web Site .It describes how to correct WA distortion etc.

Looks like a great tool, very clear website. Thanks John!

Any reason you use Aperture 3 as opposed to the Lightroom that is included with the camera?
