Unfortunately I can't help you much with the glamour look, because Im not well acquainted with that style!

That said the picture is very nice, and I like the lighting and the pose! And lastly, you model is very pretty!

Great work, lover her pose a lot. Her facial expression is special as well and the overall tonal mood is well balanced. Yes, i like that much.

My take
In reply to Irina Sh, Dec 10, 2013

Irina, this is just my personal opinion, for whatever it's worth.  To me, it's almost there.  Good shot overall, great pose and fashion look, but I think the lighting is off, but only slightly off.  To me, the light is too low, but only slightly too low.  You get wonderful highlights on the feathers at her shoulder, but not really in her hair.  What this does, at least to me, is to draw my eyes away from her face.  With that light placed at the same angle, but higher, then you will still have that wonderful softness on her face, but also dance a bit into her hair.  At the same time, there would be more light fall-off around her hips so that her right hand would not be so bright.  Right now, the "hair" light on her shoulders and the brightness of that exposed right hand lead my eyes away from her face.  There might be a edit fix that could help, too.  A little bit of burning on her hand and on the feathers might dampen their brightness and perhaps a little bit of dodging on her hair might achieve more of a hair light effect.  You're good at editing, so this might be something to try.  Or not.

Every woman is beautiful in its own way. The task of the photographer to see and express it .. Thanks. Glad you liked it.

Thank you very much for your appreciation. I am very pleased. In this photo there is a lot of post processing, unfortunately .. original photo is dark. I had to lighten it a lot , but the model wanted a sharp contrast to the half of the body. It was an experiment.

Henry, thanks much for the detailed analysis of my photo and my PostProcessing.

In general I agree with your comments.

During this photo session I tended to work more on model demands, than on my own vision.

Next time I'll try to use more of my own vision and experience, more of which I gain while communicating on the forum.

Why don't you post that image on the retouching forum? I bet you'd see plenty of interesting, creative ways to process it.

Very well posed, btw. Particularly like the placement of the hand and fingers, which is so often overlooked.

This is very nicely done, Irina.  Lots of detail throughout and well captured and processed.

I think that if you clone out the piece of finger that is appearing behind her hair above her right ear it will improve it.  It's just a tiny distraction that I noticed.

I also wondered whether her eyes could benefit from having a catchlight?  Just a thought...

Well done!

Best wishes

Paul

I agree - it's a nice photo. Only thing I'd change is the crop - bit too much headroom.

But... this is not a glamour shot. (Check out Paul Jones' site for glamour shots...)

I might suggest...

1) Pulling the right elbow further behind the body to allow for more curvature

2) don't pin the eyes so far to the edge

3) add fill light to on her left side to bring up the dark tones up about 1/3 stop. Looks like you used a single key light to camera left. You can just use a reflector to bounce some light back without adding another light.

4) pivot the body slightly to the camera

5) the pose looks a bit rigid and forced, common with less experienced models. If you allow your model to move while you shoot it will help loosen her up.

Other than that it looks good
