my first images with the 20-40mm
Dec 9, 2013

I received the lens last week and took some first snaps on the K5IIs.

The lens needed +6 focus fine adjustment but now seems to work fine.

My impression is that sharpness over the frame is quite good even at f4.0.

The Bokeh can get a little busy.

I really like the built and handling.

That's all I can say so far.

Hi Thomas, thanks for posting. I think you're quite brave as I'm sure you know you're going to be bombarded with questions now

One question I'd like to ask myself would be: how do the corners look at the wide angles around f8? I've had a look at the images you uploaded but given the file sizes and lack of exif data it's hard to say.

First shot certainly with 20-40. The 18-135 performs rather miserably in the corners.

I'd say the top is the 20-40, well it does look a bit sharper or more contrasty. The bottom one is not far off though.

Of course first one is 20-40. This was at f5.6

At f4.0/4.5 the difference is even more obvious.
