X100 battery charger failed

Last weekend I was doing a lot of shooting with my X100 and I stuck one of my four batteries in the BC-65N charger overnight. Got up the next day and noticed that the green light was blinking. Put the battery in the camera and it would not power up. Took a second discharged battery and put it in the charger and got the same result. Then I took the charger off the wall socket and noticed that the green light stayed on. That was very odd.

I figured that the charger had failed so I looked at B&H for a replacement and found that they were $49.00 there http://www.bhphotovi...er_for_the.html Took a look at ebay and found a non-OEM charger that was sold by a dealer with good feedback and thought that I would take a chance for $9.00 with free shipping. http://www.ebay.com/...984.m1439.l2649

Got the charger last night and charged three batteries with it. It seems to work well but does not seem to charge as fast as the original BC-65N charger.

This happened to me a few weeks ago whilst on holiday in India - nothing I could do until I got home which was frustrating. Luckily the X100 was just backup to my X-E1 system, but it was disappointing not to be able to use it. I too got a non-Fuji charger very cheaply when I got back which works just fine.

baobob - does this apply to X-Pro1/X-E1 charger also? If so I think I will get a backup now.

I have not had a Fuji charger fail, but I did not like the long cord in my bag and I wanted a 12 Volt option to charge in the car. I bought three (one X100 & two X-E1 type) Wasabi brand chargers & a few batteries from Amazon (US). So far so good on all accounts. They seem to charge at a good rate as well.

I forgot to mention that the charger came with a 12V cigarette cord too.

For some reason, Fuji's chargers are very unreliable. At the end of this article, it notes that they have a failure rate almost 10 times normal.

Remove the battery and unplug the power cable from the charger and power point. Put the battery back into the charger. Then plug the cable back into the charger first and then to the power point. It should work again.

Yes , in my view , Fuji could easily win a contest for the worst charger in the market .

The detachable battery support , the led that switch off when battery is charged but also if the electrical connection goes off....are unique features .

So very true. My X100 is less than a year old and already on my second charger. The first one failed while charging several batteries in a row. Thankfully Fuji did replace it, but that was little help in the middle of a vacation.

I get most of the flat battery episodes
Inow use a generic charger that I systematically unplug after each charge
100% og success and no more problem
