Sure, it's a failed camera, like the XF1, but at $379, not a bad deal.

Today ONLY. 21hours left at this price.

Fujifilm XF1 Fujifilm X-S1

Fail camera? Sorry but i am not in. It is a great camera with some initial problems that were solved (like Nikon D600? -laught-).

I am thinking on buying another one...

That is a bargain! It might be three year old technology but it is still a very competitive camera. I would call it a failed marketing attempt certainly not a failed camera.

Slightly bizarre:

6 new from $379.00 11 used from $438.00 3 refurbished from $629.99

Dicky.

Did Nikon sell the D600 for 50% off?   No.  I didnt think so.  The X-S1 was an epic failure by Fujifilm.

I am thinking on buying another one...

Get them while they last.

A 650€ bridge camera with some initial problems is hard to sell. But the camera is still great. I want to thank fuji for the risk of the innovation with the bigger sensor on a bridge ever.

A comertial failure? i don't know. A fail camera, sure not!

Look at the new Sony RX10.  Priced FAR higher than the X-S1.  Of course, it probably wont be built as poorly as the X-S1.

But the camera is still great. I want to thank fuji for the risk of the innovation with the bigger sensor on a bridge ever.

There would be an X-S2 if it were a success.

HS50 killed the X-S1 in speed so NO thanks. I can get more keepers in birding if I will use HS50 than X-S1. I'd rather wait for 50% off of X20. I need a highend compact to compliment my HS50

Wow, great deal on a Fuji cam that trounces the HS series and the Panny FZ200's IQ. Sensor size matters. Really wish a camera store here in N. California carried this camera (or the HS30/50) to play with.

No opinion on the XS1, but generally speaking a camera can be a good product and still a commercial failure. Quality and popularity don't always go hand in hand.

Handling one would probably close the sale, since even its critics say the physical aspects (body and rubberized covering, buttons, dials and zoom/focus controls) are its stronger points. The responsiveness and menus are very close to the X10, its smaller stablemate.

High ISO, yes. Speed-wise and shooting distant subject and moving subject, I'll shoot with HS50 anytime of the day.

'Failed Camera' - Amazon Reviews
In reply to Graham Hill, 9 months ago

Interesting that a 'failed camera' has such positive reviews on Amazon

50% of the Amazon reviews for the XF1 give it 5 stars our of 5

78% of the Amazon reviews for the XF1 rate it at 4 stars or higher

I see that 'failed camera' is just hyperbole - there for FUD effect.

He was talking about the X-S1, not the XF1, but the argument is more or less the same.

I would like to be associated to Chris wish

This forum allows to exchange experience and opinions

Still, a bit of modesty is needed since as shown by Chris, the numbers speak by themselves

And so are the experts I'm not addicted to experts, but when the majority applaudes in one direction, first it deserves consideration, and second if you think the opposite a bit of evidence material is needed to nourish a positive debate

The X-S1 has 74% of people rating it 4 stars or higher - so point well made

'Graham' did however reference the XF-1 as a 'failed camera' which was what I was responding to.

I believe this may be 'Graham' spotted outside a Tangerine Dream convention last week...

If there is an X-S2, then I'll be convinced that the X-S1 isnt a failure.  Until then, the NUMBERS speak for themselves.  The X-S1 has been a failure for Fujifilm.

Blow out pricing is needed to move boxes.
