Re: Vase

Both the glass itself, and the photo so well done.

Bring on the rain if that's what it takes !

Re: No battery required...

SO.

You didn't reset your camera from Queensland time.

But the minutes look "spot on"

I don't call it fun Erik . More like documenting something might get lossed in time. ..

Exactly right Erik, very observant of you!

Actually, I never reset my cameras for time zones.

BTW the connection with Hippocrates (of Hippocratic Oath fame) on the sundial is that it's on the wall of the entrance to the Faculty of Medicine in Montpellier. It's one of the oldest medical schools in Europe and dates from 1220.

Someone else planted before we got this place.  I was hoping for a better show of reds.

Re: 19th century grave ornament... warning

Sorry, Maarten, not "making light" of it.

Just meant "fun" in the sense that you are doing a lot of it.

I may have mentioned it before, but about 50 years ago we had an job recording all the gravestones in a little family-sized graveyard in Maryland, where I lived at the time. The graveyard was to be moved for new building construction.

Many of the stones were fallen and we worked all day, scraping aside vegetation and dirt from the stones and photographing them. After a long, cold gray day digging in a gravyard, we headed home only then realizing that the day was Halloween.

So I do understand......

That's OK - it's what oaks DO!

Fall color? - get a sugar maple or Liquidambar!

Liquidambar was native to my land in Maryland (not just my land - the whole area ) - and I'm charmed that it's grown all over the world in temperate places, for it's fall color.
