I took a trip to a power station that has been abandoned for over 25 years the other day. Here's a few of the pictures !

Lush colours and tones, lovely textures. It wasn't Open House at Battersea, was it? Although that was mobbed with people, I read.

No, it was actually Huncoats Power station, near Accrinton.  You have to really be quite carefull at these places as there's exposed lift shafts, broken glass and dangerous stairwells everywhere. Also always wise to keep an eye out for discarded needles !

Yes, must admit I almost came a cropper on an unguarded stairway while stepping back to frame a picture. These places can also be very creepy. Caution is definitely the watchword !

Great images... I'm desperate to explore a power station, hopefully with the control rooms intact!

I recently wrote a blog on Urban Exploration with the X-Pro1. If you like Urbex, it may be of interest...

Thanks Andy, I'll check that out!
Yes it would've been nice if the control rooms had still
Been there, but I think the place has been abandoned for so long that everything of any use or value has long gone.
