The #1 problem with the Canon 70D
1

I shoot about 50/50 video and stills with the Canon 5d Mark III.  After watching some AF videos with the new 70D, I decided to rent one tonight.  While it's not quite there for video AF of very fast moving objects, it's a Godsend to have touch screen AF focus in video mode.

So what's the #1 problem?  If I show the pics and videos I took tonight with the 70D, she'll insist I sell the 5d3.  What to do?

Teach her to be your 2nd on wedding, senior, family portrait, event.... shoots.   Of course then your problem will be that she'll want the 5D Mk IV when it comes out.  But how bad is that?

I still think the #1 problem is ...

The small command wheel for picking AF points - that takes awhile to get used to. Miss the joystick. Everything else is sublime. So much fun to use.

I felt that way within the first 24 hours.  Now after processing so many raw files, I'm just not blown away by the IQ of the 70D.

Sure, the 5d3 is quite a bit better; I'm just seeing a lack of overall contrast and images that are 'meh' for me, and this is using the excellent 70-200 USM II that I use on my 5d3.  It's been about a year since I shot any crop body cameras; perhaps that's the nature of the beast.

Dunno, I'm on the fence now.
