Thanks for the info. Yes, the 10-24 is much bigger than I expected. And the 56/1.2 is 1.5x as big as the 60, I would rather have a 1.4 or 1.5 that's cheaper and smaller.

My ideal setup was: 56 + 35 + 10-24, but I might have to reconsider this strategy.

Remember the Fuji 60MM is a Macro lens, not just a 2.4 aperture. The reason to have it is for macro 1:1 needs.

If the 56 mm has good close focusing it may replace the 60 mm. If not they are two needed lenses for different things.

I'm not sure what you're looking at but it's not the pdf in the link provided at the top of this thread. In that pdf, on pages 1 and 2, the pictures are clearly of a lens marked 56/1.2.

Do you have an old version in your browser cache perhaps?

Thanks - that did the trick. Don't understand why Firefox was doing that.

Apologies to Absolutic.

Based on what Fuji have been delivering so far, I'm sure both will be very good (especially the 56, which looks like some sort of "statement" product".

However, I think I'll just keep my 14 (terrific WA, super-sharp and with NO distortion nor CA) and 60 (only f/2.4 but razor sharp from the get go, with no CA and pretty compact and light)...

Man.  My head says, keep my 14mm, get the 24mm and 56mm...dump my 35 and 60. Result: 14, 24,56, Zeiss 100 f2 kit.  The 60...a relunctant "ok", but the 35?! I love that lens.  It's only money.

Not only is it merely 1:2, additionally,  its minimum focusing distance is nothing to write home about as far as macros go.  Also it is so sllllloooow and noisy to focus, after a while of owning 60mm, I got rid of it, as I did not see much benefift of it over shooting 18-55 at 55 end at F/4.

My ideal setup would be 14/2.8, 35/1.4 and 56/1.2.

My response is strictly from the perspective of my "Travelshooter" identity.  18 X 1.5 = 27 is not wide enough on a 18-55.  Way too many times you can't zoom with your feet, so zooms are required for me on international tours.  A great 10-24 would be wonderful and I will wait and see what the early adopters have to say.  After that the choices are the Zeiss 12 and the Fuji 14.

As far as the 56 f1.2 ...     I have a great 50mm f1.4 legacy Minolta (among a few others).  With the 18-55, the 55-200, legacy 24 f2.8, 28 f2.0, 40 f2.0, 50 f1.4 , 80 f2.0 I think I have most needs except very wide angle covered although I would like the 35mm F1.4 and will probably add that lens too.

Probably get a XM-1 for the wifey so we will have plenty of good glass.

The 60mm is only 1:2 or 1/2 lifesize not 1:1.

This lens has really got that 'light-bucket' look to it. I recently bought a Canon 55 1.2 FD and it's fun to use but really heavy. Can't wait to get this but just hope it's not over a thousand pounds...

The 56 f1.2 is really nice. I have a 85mm f1.4 for my samsung nx300 and think this new fuji lens will give similar results in terms of bokeh.

on a side note, these two lenses would appear to complete the known roadmap for fuji x lenses. wonder what they are planning next?

Oddly enough, that's the exact same setup I'm lusting after. Unfortunately, I've already decided on the 70D this year. Maybe next year when all 3 lenses are available and possibly the X-E3 with swivel screen is out?

10-24 - my thoughts are negative due to 72mm filter size! When I think about 72mm filter size I think about my former Canon 85L II lens. That had 72mm filter size and it weighed a kilo. Is 10-24 too big for a smaller X camera like XE1 or XM1/XA1?

56/12 - my first thoughts are positive. 62mm filter size! This is going to be something. I am salivating looking at the lens! I think (hope) this is going to be that one epic portrait lens, for which photographers would buy a body just to use that lens, not the other way around.

Anyway these are just first thoughts from looking at the above lenses.

Why dont we ask Fuji to do the magic and re-built the 10-24 with 62mm filter size. Additionally we could redesign almost everything on the cam as well in order to address our specific requirements. Not even ZEISS, LEITZ, or NIKON is able to make all lenses with the same filters size!!! Why do we expect this from FUJI??

Still smaller than my recent Nikon 10-24 which took 77mm filters. I tried it on my Fuji almost a year ago and it worked great but was an ugly combo, difficult to mange. Ugly due to the need for a adapter/spacer, difficult due to lack of an aperture ring on the lens.

Perhaps this lens will look great on the rumored water proof body and the 10-24 will also be a weather resistant lens as well.

Its hard for me to imagine that folks are still buying/using filters.

Fuji needs to get off its a$$ and release this thing!
