I list my own auctions only at the Swedish Tradera so this should be ok I hope.

A nice G4 Wide. A lower end model which despite that have a good zoom and nice UI.

The nice and trusty GX8 - Some time before Ricoh began to struggle with dust issues later on.

http://www.ebay.de/itm/Ricoh-Caplio-GX8-8-2-MP-Digitalkamera-Schwarz-/301012419110?pt=DE_Foto_Camcorder_Digitalkameras&hash=item4615bd0226

Another GX8 http://www.ebay.de/itm/Ricoh-Caplio-GX8-8-2-MP-Digitalkamera-Schwarz-/111209622167?pt=DE_Foto_Camcorder_Digitalkameras&hash=item19e49c2a97

R40, is the more inexpensive version of Ricoh Caplio R4. Has a shorter (28-160mm) zoom than the R4 and no IS. http://www.ebay.de/itm/RICOH-Caplio-R40-/111210029557?pt=DE_Foto_Camcorder_Digitalkameras&hash=item19e4a261f5

GRDI http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ricoh-GR-Digital-Camera-/190964417348?pt=UK_CamerasPhoto_DigitalCameras_DigitalCameras_JN&hash=item2c765dc344

G600. Not quite my favourite of the G-series Ricohs but at least ok and better than the PX. http://www.ebay.de/itm/Ricoh-G600-10-0-MP-Digital-Camera-Black-Silver-/251374689890?pt=UK_CamerasPhoto_DigitalCameras_DigitalCameras_JN&hash=item3a87195e62

A Contax TVS Digital. Not very unlike the old Ricohs which have the Adj-button. A superb gem!http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kyocera-Contax-TVS-Digital-5-0-MP-Digital-Camera-/121208357000?pt=UK_CamerasPhoto_DigitalCameras_DigitalCameras_JN&hash=item1c3894c088

A Ricoh Caplio 500SE which comes with the same GPS which I have for my. Works great as long as one is outside. http://ebay.de/itm/Ricoh-Caplio-500SE-/151225391034?pt=DE_Foto_Camcorder_Digitalkameras&hash=item2335bc57ba

Ricoh Caplio GX 5mp. Another old school classic, one with somewhat slow autofocus. Marginally slower than the G4 Wide which have smaller sensor. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ricoh-Caplio-GX-5-1M-Pixel-Camera-with-Accessories-/221368413975?pt=UK_CamerasPhoto_DigitalCameras_DigitalCameras_JN&hash=item338a95ef17

Ricoh RDC-4200 a low number of pixels but nice and grainy IQ from what I've seen in sample images. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ricoh-RDC-4200-Digital-Camera-Metallic-Black-/201031731663?pt=UK_CamerasPhoto_DigitalCameras_DigitalCameras_JN&hash=item2ece6cc9cf

Ricoh Caplio R2. One of the first in the R-series which almost had as low NR as the R3. While was R1 was smudgy the R1V was an improvement and then R2 even better. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ricoh-Caplio-R2-5-0-MP-Digital-Camera-Black-/231150322897?pt=UK_CamerasPhoto_DigitalCameras_DigitalCameras_JN&hash=item35d1a204d1

Ricoh Caplio R5. A flawed gem of if it is a good copy can be quite a gem. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/digital-compact-camera-/151223249475?pt=UK_CamerasPhoto_DigitalCameras_DigitalCameras_JN&hash=item23359baa43

Contax TVS Digital. A camera which resemble a lot about the early Ricohs with the ADJ-button to change exposure, WB and iso quickly. Also short shutter-release lag and a very good zoom optically. AF is not very fast but bang on each time except for in low light of course. A gem which I found to be more than just a collector item, a camera which I uses a lot and prefer over the Ricoh GX 5mp.

That R5 is a few miles from where I live - might see if I can go check it out.

I am beginning to prefer older digital cameras to newer ones as the NR tends to be less aggressive in good light / low iso scenarios and I am convinced that these days the jpeg engines are optimised to make photos look good on the in camera screen with the manufacturers safe in the knowledge this is where the majority of people will look at there pictures (either that or via hideously compressed facebook pages!).

Woohoo - bought that R5 for £9.99.  In very good condition, seems to work and for the age etc it takes pretty nice photos.

Very happy...

I wonder when will the price of the VF-2 EVF drop? The least expensive offerings are still twice as expensive as I'm willing to pay...

Ricoh Caplio 300G http://www.ebay.de/itm/Ricoh-Caplio-300G-3-2-MP-Digitalkamera-/321366173008?pt=DE_Foto_Camcorder_Digitalkameras&hash=item4ad2eaa550

One of the rather rare but good rugged and to some degree waterproof G-Ricohs. Foolproof AWB from my own experience with a 300G and generally pretty much OK image quality. This camera is going to do better than the Ricoh PX which have f3.9 at 28mm while the 300G/RR30 have f2.8 at the wide end of the zoom which is 35mm.

It can be used with AA batteries or the the ricoh DB-43 battery which also is known as Fuji NP-120. Storage is usual SD-card max 2gb.

Inside, it is heavily based on the Ricoh Caplio RR30 which itself was an inexpensive but reasonably good and popular camera in its day - simply a good bang-for-the-bucks.

Lowest manual iso setting was stupidly to my surprise 200, but set it to Auto instead and the camera holds the iso consistently around 125-150 and almost never go above it.

I was very surprised when I realized that the lowest manual setting was 200 as all other Ricoh cameras I know about which uses that very same Ccd have iso 125 as a manual setting.

There is unfortunately no ADJ-button available on this 300G or the RR30 but the handling is not too bad. It was first with the Ricoh Caplio G4 which we got the ADJ-button.

As far as I know the image quality is nearly identical to the Ricoh Caplio RR30 except for that there is no blue or purple cast in the images I got from a 300G unlike the RR30 which both Steve's digicams and DC resource managed to make it almost look bad in the sample images.

I dunno if Ricoh finally fixed the blue or purple cast in the RR30 with a firmware update later on. I've never heard or read anything about it until I saw these only half decent sample images.

This is to me an interesting coincidence. About two months ago I finally found a *very* rare Black RR30 which was rather dirty on Ebay.de which I bought and cleaned so that it almost looks like new. It has been sitting in the closet since but already have the latest firmware which I upgraded it to at the time being if my memory serves me right. Gonna take it out tomorrow and take a bunch of pictures to see if that blue cast was fixed or not.

Steve's sample images from the RR30 http://www.steves-digicams.com/camera-reviews/ricoh/rr30-caplio/ricoh-rr30-caplio-review-7.html

DC resource http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/ricoh/rr30-review/gallery.html

Keep in mind that the 300G is more capable than that. I've my own images from it when I compared it to the Ricoh 500SE and G600 and except the lower amount of pixels, the 300G held up very well. The 500SE was slightly hampered by the the purple cast as I at that early stage when I had it not yet had figured out that WB should be set to cloudy/overcast to overcome that problem. So all cameras was used with AWB as far as I remember.

Another great gem from an almost golden era of decent Ricohs. Probably the last "Real" Ricoh as far as image quality combined with the PDAF go. As some of us know it went downhill afterwards with GX100 using too much sharpening even at -2 and with later models came instead too much filthy NR and no real Off-setting even if it looked so at first glance.

Ricoh Caplio R4. Another classic Ricoh camera even though the R3 was the better of these two to me. http://www.ebay.de/itm/Ricoh-Caplio-R4-6-0-MP-Digitalkamera-/181365946184?pt=DE_Foto_Camcorder_Digitalkameras&hash=item2a3a40b748

I don't know if the price has dropped or not. I've barely seen it on Ebay at all actually. But it showed up in a usual auction on a search for it. http://www.ebay.de/itm/Elektronischer-Sucher-Ricoh-VF-2-fur-Ricoh-GXR-/171300925069?pt=DE_Kamera_Foto_Zubeh%C3%B6r_Winkelsucher_Augenmuscheln&hash=item27e254ae8d

It seems to be very sought after as there is 19 bids on it so far.

Yes, so it seems. I guess I'll need to wait some more. The current bid is already too high for my liking. Thanks for the heads up anyway!
